2011 Relay For Life® of Greater Sussex County, NJ
The Sussex County Cancer Coalition has once again made a commitment to help save lives from cancer by taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® on May 21 - 22, 2011 at Sussex County Community College. It's a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.
Whether it is through a friend, family member, the neighbor down the street, or our own personal experience, we have all been touched by cancer in some way. That's why each year since 1986, millions of people from across the country gather to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.
At the event, teams camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track. There is a touching ceremony to celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers and to honor those who have lost their battle with the disease. Luminarias are available for donation to remember someone who is currently fighting cancer or for someone who has already lost their battle. They are lit during the Relay For Life® Luminaria Ceremony once the sun goes down.
Please join our team, and together, we'll help raise much needed funds and awareness to support the American Cancer Society's efforts to save more lives.
