Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 22, 2017, by Shawn King.
King, age 29 of Sloatsburg, New York, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Theft and Theft by Deception, both third degree crimes. Sentencing is presently anticipated for April 28, 2017.
In pleading guilty, King admitted that he and his co-defendant agreed to fraudulently obtain electrical supplies from an electrical supply company. The defendants obtained the supplies on various dates before being taken into custody on their final attempt on July 16, 2015.
The case was investigated by Tpr. G. Monterosso and Tpr. T. Finnerty of the New Jersey State Police.
King was represented by Janine Cerra, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
