Press Release - Sentencing of Brittney Wahnon

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Brittney Wahnon, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 13, 2017.

     Wahnon, age 23 of Hawley, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to three years of probation.  She was ordered to complete 200 hours of community service, continue with drug treatment, cooperate and testify truthfully if co-defendants do not plead guilty, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.00.

     She pled guilty on November 14, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.

     On March 5, 2016, Sparta Township Police stopped a car for motor vehicle violations.  She was a passenger in the car and was in possession of heroin.

     Wahnon was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas.
