Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Eric Faulkner, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 9, 2017.
Eric Faulkner, age 33, of Newton, was sentenced to ten (10) years State Prison subject to No Early Release Act for a Robbery and sentenced to five (5) years State Prison for a Theft both of which occurred in June of 2015 in the Township of Hardyston. These sentences were ordered to run concurrent to one another. Faulkner received 514 days jail credit and was ordered to pay all mandatory fines and fees.
In addition, the Defendant was sentenced to five (5) years State Prison for an Aggravated Assault on another inmate in March of 2017 when he was incarcerated at the Keough-Dwyer Correctional Facility. This sentences was ordered to run concurrent to the Robbery and Theft sentence.
He pled guilty on April 19, 2017, to Robbery (a second degree crime), Theft (a third degree crime). This case was investigated by the Hardyston Township Police Department and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. On the same date, the Defendant also pled guilty to Aggravated Assault (a third degree crime) on another inmate at the Sussex County Courthouse. This case was investigated by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
