Press Release - Plea of Joseph Gibney

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 19, 2017, by Joseph Gibney.
     Gibney, age 33 of Hopatcong, pled guilty to Conspiracy and to two counts of Forgery, all third degree crimes.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for August 25, 2017.
     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to acting in concert with two other individuals to forge checks and actually cash two stolen checks in Hopatcong.
     The case was investigated by Patrolman J. Bianculli of the Hopatcong Police Department.
     Gibney was represented by Robert Klingenburg Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
