Press Release - Sentencing of William E. Nielsen-Dewitt

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of William E. Nielsen-Dewitt, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 21, 2017.
 
Nielsen-Dewitt, age 36, of Highland Lakes, was sentenced to three years non-custodial Probation on condition that he submit to random drug monitoring, obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, complete 100 hours of community service, submit a DNA sample and pay $1212.00 in court fines and fees. He was given credit for serving 52 days in jail.  
 
     He pled guilty on October 3, 2016, to third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance 
 
     In May of 2016 the defendant was found to be in possession of Heroin when Vernon Police were serving an arrest warrant on him regarding another matter.
 
     Nielsen-Dewitt was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nicoletta Agouras.
