Press Release - Plea of Michael Heresi

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of guilty pleas to accusations before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 21, 2017, by Michael Heresi.
 
     Heresi, age 25 of Hopatcong, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Cyber Harassment, a fourth degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for October 6, 2017.
 
     On August 2, 2016, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  In pleading guilty, he admitted to being in possession of heroin.  The defendant also admitted to posting an indecent photo of a victim to an online social networking site on April 14, 2017. 
 
     The cases were investigated by Ptl. Daniel Kern of the Hopatcong Police Department.
 
     Heresi was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
