     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on November 13, 2017 by Joseph Mauriello.

 

     Mauriello, age 30, of Elmwood Park, pled guilty to Burglary and Theft, both crimes of the third degree.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for January 18, 2018.

 

     The defendant admitted breaking into a Sparta residence taking many items of jewelry and then selling some of them at a pawn shop in Clifton.

 

     Mauriello was represented by David Nufrio, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
