     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced that the Sussex County Grand Jury handed up two indictments to the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C., at the courthouse in Newton on December 7, 2017. 

 

     The indictments charge Jason Sinclair age 43 of Stanhope, New Jersey with the second degree crime of witness tampering, the third degree crimes of possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats, and the fourth degree crimes of unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and contempt. 

 

     The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.  Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks.

 

     A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only.  The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial.
