Press Release - Plea of James D. Mann

PRESS RELEASE

April 20, 2020

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 14, 2020, by James D. Mann.

     Mann, age 34 of Hamburg, pled guilty to Hindering His Own Apprehension, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for May 7, 2020.

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to providing false information, namely another’s name, to a law enforcement officer in Andover Township on October 11, 2019 in an effort to avoid his arrest for an outstanding warrant.

     The case was investigated by Officer David Northern of the Andover Township Municipal Police Department.
Mann was represented by Thomas F. Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
