     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courtroom in Newton on June 23, 2022 by Gabriella Colon. 

     Colon, age 20, of Vernon, pled guilty to Obstructing Administration of Law, a crime of the fourth degree and a violation of her existing probation, for resisting arrest, a disorderly persons offense. Sentencing is presently scheduled at the Sussex County Courtroom in Newton before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. on August 11, 2022.  

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to purposely obstructing, impairing or preventing the administration of law in Vernon Township on April 18, 2022, specifically by taking and throwing a body worn camera which held video evidence of a criminal investigation into the woods.  

     Defendant was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
