Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Nicole DeJesus, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 9, 2019.
DeJesus, age 20 of Newton, was sentenced to two years of probation with credit for two days of time served. She was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service work and pay fines and fees totaling $1,155.00.
She pled guilty on June 17, 2019, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
DeJesus was in possession of Lorazepam during a motor vehicle stop in Andover on March 23, 2017.
DeJesus was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
