Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Christopher Hillery, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 23, 2019.
Hillery, age 40 of Sussex, was sentenced to two years of probation with credit for 11 days of time served. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, complete 20 hours of community service work and pay fines and fees totaling $3,555.00.
He pled guilty on June 24, 2019, to three counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
The defendant was in possession of heroin on August 19, 2018, in Franklin, on December 12, 2018, in Haledon and on May 13, 2019, in Sparta.
Hillery was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
