Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jose Malave, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 25, 2019.
Malave, age 40 of Haledon, was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison concurrent with sentences imposed in Essex, Bergen and Passaic Counties. He was ordered to pay joint and several restitution in the amount of $6,627.89 and fines and fees totaling $280.00.
He pled guilty on September 9, 2019, to Burglary and Conspiracy, both third degree crimes.
Malave conspired with another person to burglarize and actually did burglarize a Sparta residence on February 7, 2019.
Malave was represented by Nicole Rizzolo, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sahil Kabse.
