Press Release - Plea of Monika Wolverton

March 8, 2021

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 8, 2021, by Monika Wolverton.  

     Wolverton, age 33 of Newton, pled guilty to Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, a third degree crime, Theft, a third degree crime and a violation of probation.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for April 22, 2021.

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to using a stolen credit card to withdraw cash from two bank ATMs on multiple occasions between October 15 and November 9, 2020, in Byram Township, and to violating her probation.   

     The case was investigated by Detective Robert Tierney of the Byram Township Police Department.

     Wolverton was represented by Bruce C. Farrier, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
