April is Alcohol Awareness Month and an opportunity to raise awareness about the serious problems and harmful effects of alcohol abuse. The Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Community and Youth Services and the Board of County Commissioners join the New Jersey Association of County Alliance Coordinators and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) in acknowledging the importance of alcohol awareness.

This schedule is subject to change pending weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Andover was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 11, 1864, from portions of Newton Township, which was split up on that date and dissolved. Portions of the township were taken to form Fredon Township (February 24, 1904) and Andover Borough (March 25, 1904). Portions of the township were ceded to Newton town in both 1869 and 1927.
