Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley Jr., J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 27, 2020 by Renee Tripp.
Tripp, age 73, of Newton, pled guilty to Assault by Auto, a crime of the third degree, two counts of Disorderly Persons Assault by Auto and Motor Vehicle Summons Driving While Intoxicated. She was sentenced on her Driving While Intoxicated charge to seven months loss of her driver’s license, she must complete twelve hours IDRC, have mandatory interlock on her vehicle and pay $1430.00 in fines and fees.
Sentencing is presently scheduled on her other charges for March 6, 2020.
The defendant admitted she was had cocktails with her dinner and then drove intoxicated, resulting in a multi-vehicle accident with injuries.
Tripp was represented by Blair Zwillman, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
