Press Release - Sentencing of Ronald Johnstone

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Ronald Johnstone, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 27, 2020.
Johnstone, age 51, of Sussex, was sentenced to 180 days jail with 180 days parole ineligibility and five years Probation. He must also complete 90 days in an inpatient program, undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, have a ten year loss of his driver’s license with a three year interlock, he must complete 48 hours IDRC class and pay $1389.00 in court fines and fees.
He pled guilty on January 13, 2020, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Resisting Arrest, both crimes of the third degree and motor vehicle violations Driving While Suspended and Driving While Under the Influence.
Johnstone was represented by Bruce Farrier, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
