Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to two accusations before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 29, 2020, by Daniel Goldberg.
Goldberg, age 33 of Newton, pled guilty to Burglary, a third degree crime, and Theft, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 3, 2020.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted that on August 28, 2019, he entered the residence of the victim without permission for the purpose of taking items belonging to the victim which he then sold. The defendant also admitted that on August 20, 2019 he took items from a second victim without permission which he also then sold.
The case was investigated by Trooper Audel Ventura and Detective Louis Jacinto of the New Jersey State Police and Detective Keith Curry of the Vernon Township Police Department.
Goldberg was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro.
