Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Courtney M. Zona, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 21, 2020.
Zona, age 31, of Oak Ridge, was sentenced to two years’ probation and ten days Community Service. The defendant must undergo a TASC evaluation and comply with any recommendations and, if requested by probation, she must complete a mental health evaluation. Zona cannot have any contact with the Acme in Vernon and must pay all fines and fees.
She pled guilty on April 22, 2020, to Shoplifting, a crime of the fourth degree.
The defendant took merchandise from the Acme in Vernon on June 9, 2019, without paying.
Zona was represented by Shaun M. Russell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Magdalen Czykier.
