Press Release - Plea of Erickson Polanco-Ramos

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 8, 2020, by Erickson Polanco-Ramos.
Ramos, age 29 of Paterson, pled guilty to two counts of Burglary, a third degree crime, two counts of Theft, a third degree crime, and one count of Criminal Mischief, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 24, 2020.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted that on October 17, 2019, he and two other co-defendants entered the Cycle Exchange in Andover Borough which they were not licensed or privileged to enter by breaking through a glass door and purposely took an Oset dirt bike worth approximately $2,499.00 that was displayed for sale with the intent to permanently deprive Cycle Exchange of said dirt bike. He further admitted that on October 27, 2019, he and another co-defendant entered the RIDE Bike Shop in Andover Borough which they were not licensed or privileged to enter by breaking through a glass door and purposely took four (4) mountain bicycles and other merchandise worth approximately $23,000 that was displayed for sale with the intent to permanently deprive RIDE Bike Shop of said mountain bicycles and merchandise. Lastly, the defendant admitted that on October 29, 2019, he and three other co-defendants traveled to Motorcycle Madness in Lafayette Township and attempted to enter by breaking a glass window with the intent to take items from the store with the intent to permanently deprive Motorcycle Madness of those items.
These cases were investigated by Trooper Hendrix, Trooper Encarnacion, Trooper Pall, Trooper McGrath, Det. Jacinto and Det. Erny of the New Jersey State Police Department.
Ramos was represented by William Oake, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro.
