Press Release - Sentencing of Justine Lynn

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Justine Lynn, who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courtroom in Newton on May 20, 2022.

     Lynn, age 44, of Franklin, was sentenced to one year non-custodial probation. She was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, submit a DNA sample, and pay $155.00 in fines and fees and restitution totaling $7,500.00. The restitution must be paid within 45 days of sentencing.  

     Lynn pled guilty on February 28, 2022, to Theft, a crime of the third degree.    

     The defendant admitted while serving as treasurer of the organization, she unlawfully took money belonging to Wallkill Valley Junior Football and Cheerleading Inc., and took the same for her own personal use purposely depriving the owner thereof.  

     Defendant was represented by Martin Morrison, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
