Press Release - Sentencing of Louis J. Sloane
PRESS RELEASE

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Louis J. Sloane who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Virtual Sussex County Courtroom in Newton on June 3, 2022.
Sloane, age 58, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years non-custodial probation. In addition to the standard conditions of probation he must undergo a TASC Evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit a DNA sample, and pay $1,277.00 in fines/fees.
He pled guilty on April 4, 2022, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and to violation of probation.
The defendant was in possession of heroin in Byram Township on November 1, 2021.
The case was investigated by Ptl. D. Kuncken and Sgt. D. Dewald of the Byram Township Police Department.
Sloane was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
