Press Release - Sentencing of Mark A. Conklin

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Mark A. Conklin, who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 3, 2022.

     Mark A. Conklin, age 31, of Sussex, was sentenced to three years probation, 180 days in the Morris County Correctional Facility, pay fines and fees, comply with DCP&P and Family Court Orders, continue all mental health and substance abuse treatment, attend and complete the DECIDE program and have no contact with the victim except for limited issues with the approval of DCP&P for one count of Resisting Arrest and one count of Simple Assault stemming from an incident in December of 2021 in the Borough of Sussex as well as one count of Contempt of a Judicial/Restraining Order and one count of Simple Assault stemming from an incident in January of 2022 in the Borough of Sussex.  

     He pled guilty on April 26, 2022, to Contempt of a Judicial/Restraining Order (a fourth degree crime), Resisting Arrest (a disorderly persons offense) and two counts of Simple Assault (a disorderly persons offense).    

     Defendant was represented by Matthew W. Young, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura Nazzaro.
