Sussex County Volunteer Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program

On May 10, 2023, the Sussex County Board of Commissioners approved a Volunteer Fire and EMS Equipment Grant Program funded through the American Rescue Plan’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to support Sussex County volunteer fire and emergency medical service organizations by procuring up to $10,000 per organization for the necessary equipment to run their operations. Volunteer Organizations rely primarily on fundraising, which was impacted sharply by the pandemic, straining capabilities to respond expeditiously to calls, while keeping the volunteers safe with proper, up to date equipment.
The application period has been extended to July 31st, 2023.
