SCLS Ranks Among New Jersey’s Top Ten Libraries

Newton, NJ – The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) proudly announces its recognition as one of New Jersey's top-performing libraries in the 2023 New Jersey Public Library Data Report, compiled by the New Jersey State Library. Notably, SCLS has secured a top ten position in total circulation, highlighting its commitment to serving the community with a robust collection of resources and services.

Total Print Circulation: 9th
E-Circulation: 15th
E-Book Circulation: 18th
E-Audio Circulation: 9th
Library Visits: 15th

2023 Achievements @ SCLS
Over 710,000 Check-outs, a 7 % increase over 2022
Over 260,000 Visits to SCLS locations, a 15 % increase over 2022

"We are incredibly proud of our top ten ranking in total circulation," said Will Porter, Director of the Sussex County Library System. "This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the library staff and the enthusiastic support from the community. Our 2023 accomplishments reflect our ongoing efforts to enhance our collections, expand our services, and engage our community."

The New Jersey State Library compiles annual statistics to assess the performance and impact of over 290 libraries and library systems across the state. These statistics highlight services, budget, staffing, circulation, and patron engagement.
