6/16/2020 The County of Sussex will be closing down the COVID-19 testing center at Sussex County Community College, effective Friday, June 19, due to a downtrend in testing since May 22.

Effective immediately: Indoor gatherings will be permitted at whichever number is lower – 25% of a building's capacity or 50 people total - limit on outdoor gatherings will be raised to 100 people - authorizes the opening of pools on June 22nd and all outdoor recreational and entertainment businesses that were previously closed – with the exceptions of amusement parks, water parks, and arcades - allows for greater indoor religious services and explicitly allows outdoor gatherings of more than 100 persons for First Amendment-protected outdoor activities – such as political protests or outdoor religious services.

5/15/2020 Governor: July 7th primary will be a primarily vote-by-mail election. ALL registered Democratic and Republican voters will receive a postage-paid vote-by-mail ballot. ALL unaffiliated and inactive voters will receive a postage-paid vote-by-mail ballot application. A limited number of in-person polling places in each county will be open to ensure that everyone can exercise their right to vote. The deadline by which votes must be received by a county Board of Elections to be counted as valid will be extended from 48 hours after polls close to SEVEN DAYS after polls close. We will ensure every vote is counted. No one should have to choose between their health and exercising their right to vote.
